Kurt Vonnegut is one of America's best known satirical writers, and much of his work has been classified as science fiction. Because science fiction is often difficult to distinguish from other forms of speculative writings, it is sometimes difficult to state definitively whether a specific piece is science fiction or not. Not all of Kurt Vonnegut's writings are science fiction, and not all of his science fiction works are noted here. It is the goal of this site to provide an brief overview of Kurt Vonnegut's life, career, and science fiction.

It was created in December 2008, by a first-year student at DePauw University for the class HONR101C "Speculative Visions: The Worlds of Science Fiction," taught by Dr. Arthur Evans.
