Looking Deeper:
An Analysis of some "Racist" Works

            Before the claim can be made that racism is deeply ingrained in much speculative fiction, it is necessary for there to be an examination and analysis of a variety of the SF forums and styles to see if the theme is actually present. With this in mind, the following few pages of this site are dedicated to taking a closer look at some works or forums where fantasy and race meet.  There are three works that will be examined in which the racist theme seems to have if not a dominant role, then at least a very obvious place in the piece.  The three items that are to be examined are: The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkein, the RPG forum, Carrion Fields to be more specific, and the Conan series by Robert E.
