Cast of Characters

CAPTAIN JAMES T. KIRK: From the Original Series, that strong-willed, womanizing captain we all know and love (or hate, depending on who you talk to). Voiced by William Shatner.

COMMANDER SPOCK: The half-Vulcan science officer who is ever-seeking to reconcile his human emotions with his Vulcan logic. Interestingly enough, Spock was the only character to appear in every episode of the Animated Series. Voiced by Leonard Nimoy.

DOCTOR LEONARD "BONES" MCCOY: The Chief Medical Officer, a Southerner, and the loveable curmudgeon. Spock and McCoy continually oppose one another. Voiced by DeForest Kelley.

LT. COMMANDER MONTGOMERY SCOTT: The Chief Engineer and frequent operator of the ship's transporters. Scotty can fix any problem with the most ingenious of solutions. Voiced by Jimmy Doohan.

LT. HIKARU SULU: Helmsman for the Enterprise who also was lucky enough to fire the phasers. As in the Original Series, Sulu represented one of the few serious portrayals of an Asian character on TV in the sixties and seventies. Voiced by George Takei.

LT. UHURA: The Communications Officer who happened to be both black and female. Although often referred to as simply a glorified switchboard operator, her role was ground-breaking for minority representation in the media. Voiced by Nichelle Nichols.

NURSE CHRISTINE CHAPEL: A regular guest star on the Original Series, Nurse Chapel appeared again in the Animated Series. Voiced by Majel Barrett.

LT. AREX: Arex took Chekov's place as navigator. His character, along with M'Ress, is an excellent example of the opportunities opened up to Star Trek by the animated medium, as Arex has 3 arms, 3 legs, orange skin, and yellow eyes. Voiced by Jimmy Doohan.

LT. M'RESS: M'Ress sometimes took Uhura's spot as Communications Officer. Her species is feline and speaks with a softly purring voice. Voiced by Majel Barrett.
