Back to the Future Part II - Full Plot Summary
Back in 1985, Dr. Emmett Brown, “Doc,” takes Marty McFly and Jennifer Parker to the year 2015 to save the future of their children. It turns out that Marty McFly Jr. is allowing Griff Tannen, the son of Biff Tannen, to bully him around. Doc, Marty, and Jennifer arrive on the day that Griff convinces Marty Jr. to engage in criminal mischief, which will end up getting Marty Jr. sent to jail.
When Marty and Jennifer go to their future home, Jennifer overhears an older Marty getting fired from his job for unethical conduct. Jennifer also encounters her older self, and faints from shock; she can’t seem to handle everything that’s going on, so Doc knocks her out (interestingly, with a device similar to the one which was later used in Men in Black to “zap” memories) and they leave her by the DeLorean time machine and later return her, sleeping, to 1985.
After Marty successfully stops his son from getting involved in criminal activity, he buys a sports almanac for the years 1950-2000, planning to use it to “predict” the results of future sporting events and win money through gambling. Doc finds out and throws it away, but the Biff of 2015 finds the almanac, steals the DeLorean, and uses it to give the almanac to his younger self. When Marty and Jennifer arrive back to their own time, they find it to be a living hell—Biff has become rich and famous by using the almanac and he practically owns the city. He also has married Marty's mother, killed his father, and when Marty starts to ask about the almanac, Biff tries to kill him, too. Marty and Doc go back to 1955, once again revisiting the dance where Marty’s parents fell in love, in order to take back the almanac and restore the future. After a lot of chaos, Marty finally recovers the sports almanac from young Biff and burns it, thus restoring the future.
While Doc is flying in the DeLorean (he enabled it to fly when he was in 2015) and waiting to pick up Marty, the car is struck by lightning, which sends Doc into 1885. Cleverly, Doc has arranged for a telegram to be sent to Marty's exact location and time, assuring Marty that he is safe and happy in the “Old West.” Marty goes to the clock tower in the town square, where the 1955 Doc has just sent Marty back to 1985 (the end of the first film), and tells Doc that he is back from the future. At first refusing to believe it, Doc is shocked and passes out unconscious. “To be concluded…”
