Plot Summary:   After the world is devastated by nuclear warfare, a post-Apocalyptic society prevails, unlike one that has ever existed. It is decided that violence could no longer be tolerated among humanity, so drastic measures must be taken to prevent it.  The root cause of all violence, it seems, is human emotion. Thus, the drug Prozium is created, which eliminates the ability for humans to have emotion. There are many people who are rebellious to this new form of government and new way of life, therefore a group of protectors called the Clerics assume the duty of hunting down those who are guilty of committing acts that can be seen as ways of showing emotion, such as painting, reading, etc. John Preston is the top Cleric, and has seen many crimes of emotion, including his wife, who was captured and eventually killed, a fate given to all of those whom are guilty. His former partner was also executed (this time by John himself). One day John misses a dose of his Prozium, and begins to realize that emotion is a necessary thing and that people are no longer acting as they should. Becoming aware of the totalitarian nature of the society, John proceeds to contact the leaders of the rebellion that takes place outside of the city, and together they lead the way to help free the world  and allow them to truly live.
