RAY BRADBURY

Ray Bradbury was born on August 22, 1920 in Waukegan, Illinois. He graduated from a Los Angeles high school in 1938, which was the extent of his formal schooling. From 1938 to 1942, he worked selling newspapers in L.A. and in 1943 became a full-time writer. His first collection of short stories was titled Dark Carnival (1947), followed by The Martian Chronicles (1950) and The Illustrated Man (1943). Bradbury has also written many screenplays, and his other famous works include Dandelion Wine (1957) and Fahrenheit 451 (1953). During his career, Ray Bradbury has also been given a star on the Hollywood walk of fame and has even had a comet named after him.
